The Sherpa, refined.

Sherpa GenV

The Sherpa is the answer. Now what's the question?

Epic mile-muncher? Trail-centre hooligan? 29er XC race-weapon? 27.5+ bikepacking companion? Friend for life?

It’s quicker to list what the Sherpa can’t do. As our most versatile frame, it comes closer than anything else to disproving the rule of N+1. Pick the Sherpa and you’ll never be left wondering, “Maybe I should have gone for a…”

The Sherpa is our do-what-you-like hardtail. Now with UDH compatability.

Positive Engineering

The Stanton Sherpa is a 29er that rides with the agility of something smaller, thanks to our commitment to Positive Engineering – the idea that smart design should enhance your ride, not compromise it.

When new standards arrive, we don’t just adapt, we innovate. The Sherpa’s custom yoke on the drive side is proof of that. It keeps the chainstays remarkably short at just 435mm, delivers the lateral stiffness you need when pushing hard, and still allows clearance for up to 2.5” 29er tyres or full 3” 27.5+ rubber.

For GenV, we’ve refined the frame even further. Built from UK Reynolds 853 steel and fabricated in Asia, the front triangle balances responsiveness with durability, while the Reynolds 525 rear triangle brings just the right mix of strength and compliance. The result? A frame with Stanton’s trademark feel – sharp on acceleration, lively in handling, and endlessly adaptable.

We build the frame; you bring it to life.

Now in its fifth generation, the Sherpa is more dialled than ever. It’s efficient, comfortable over big miles, and climbs with ease, giving you the confidence to take on technical terrain and long days in the saddle. Many riders have even parked their full-suspension bikes for good, finding the Sherpa more capable, more reliable, and simply more fun.

Just like its namesake, the Sherpa is built to go the distance – but it refuses to be pigeonholed. It’s your bike, your way.

We can’t wait to see where you take yours.

UDH

We’ve updated the Sherpa for modern drivetrains with full UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) compatibility. That means the Gen4 Sherpa is ready for the future — whether you’re running a mechanical drivetrain today or eyeing up a SRAM T-Type Transmission build down the line.

By adopting the UDH standard, we’ve made derailleur alignment more precise, crash recovery easier, and replacement hangers universal — no more searching for proprietary parts. The UDH system also ensures perfect integration with SRAM’s latest direct-mount, hangerless drivetrains, so your Sherpa is fully Transmission-ready straight out the gate.

BSA Threaded 73mm - Hope BB

100mm to 130mm, with 120mm often considered the all-rounder setting for the bike's geometry and performance on varied terrain. You can choose a shorter travel fork (100mm or rigid) for more XC-focused geometry and climbing, or a longer travel fork (up to 130mm) for a more aggressive trail riding experience with a slacker head angle.
